Sanjay Kumar was born on March 3, 1976 in Kalol Bakain of District Bilaspur in Himachal Pradesh. There was a point of time when Sanjay was out of ammunitions, but this never stopped him. He could see his end right in front of his eyes, yet he acted with determination and courage and thus defeating death, he successfully completed the mission assigned to him.

Vikram Batra (Known by Luv, Shershah, Kargil-ka-She) was born on September 9, 1974 in Palampur district of Himachal Pradesh. Captain Vikram Batra showed unprecedented valour in the Kargil war and attained martyrdom. He was awarded with the ‘Param Vir Chakra’ posthumously.

Yogendra Singh Yadav was born on May 10, 1980 in the Ahir village of Aurangabad in Bulandshahr district of Uttar Pradesh. He became the youngest 'ParamVir Chakra' awardee at the age of 19 years. The entire world will always remember the exemplary valour displayed by the Indian soldiers in the Kargil war. Grenadier Yogendra Singh Yadav not only defeated the enemy but also dodged death in this war. At the time of receiving the ParamVir Chakra award he was only 19 years of age. He is the youngest soldier to have received the ParamVir Chakra.

Manoj Kumar Pandey was born on June 25, 1975 in the Rudha Village of Sitapur District in Uttar Pradesh. The exuberant words, "I swear that I will even defeat death if it comes in the way of my duty", were of martyr Captain Manoj Kumar Pandey, the hero of the Kargil war.
