The birth place of Lord Rama is situated in Ayodhya in the state of Uttar Pradesh which makes Ayodhya one of most sacred places for Hindus. मीरा और उनके युग का पुनराविष्कार करनेवाली फ़िल्म की स्क्रिप्ट के अलावा इस पुस्तक में गुलज़ार से उनके रचनाकर्म के बारे में यशवंत व्यास की एक लम्बी बातचीत भी है और साथ है ‘मीरा’ के निर्माण में आनेवाली मुश्किलों के बारे में गुलज़ार का एक संस्मरण, जो इस पुस्तक को और उपयोगी तथा संग्रहणीय बनाता है। सिनेमा के विद्यार्थियों और पटकथा लेखकों को भी यह पुस्तक बहुत कुछ सिखाती है।
