प्रसाद के युग को रचने के लिए इस उपन्यास में लेखक ने जिस भाषा और दृश्यबद्ध शैली को गढ़ा है, वह न सिर्फ़ उसकी विशिष्ट रचनाशीलता का प्रमाण है, बल्कि पाठकों को भी विरल अनुभव प्रदान करनेवाला है।
