- Description: निश्चय ही परिवार बालक की प्रथम पाठशाला होती है और माँ उसकी प्रथम शिक्षक। बच्चों को अच्छे संस्कार देने का दायित्व सबसे पहले तो माता-पिता को ही वहन करना होता है। लेकिन औपचारिक शिक्षा का अपना महत्त्व है। आज के इस प्रतिस्पर्धापूर्ण विश्व में तो औपचारिक शिक्षा का महत्त्व और भी बढ़ता जा रहा है। दुर्भाग्यवश हमारे देश में ऐसे बच्चों की संख्या बहुत अधिक है, जो स्कूल का मुँह भी नहीं देख पाते। बेटियों की स्थिति तो और भी बदतर है। बहुत से माता-पिता तो बेटियों को बेटों के समान शिक्षा के सुअवसर प्रदान करना निरर्थक समझते हैं। बेटा हो या बेटी, उन्हें स्कूल जाने की सुविधा प्रदान करना तो समाज का दायित्व है ही, उन्हें स्कूल जाने के लिए प्रेरित करना भी हमारी जिम्मेदारी है। लेकिन बच्चों को स्कूल पहुँचाकर ही हमारा दायित्व पूरा नहीं हो जाता। हमें देखना होगा कि बच्चे सुशिक्षित होने के साथ-साथ सुसंस्कारित भी हों और देश एवं समाज के प्रति अपने दायित्वों को समझें। अपने अधिकारों के प्रति सजग हों, लेकिन अपने कर्तव्यों की उपेक्षा कदापि न करें। यह एक सर्वमान्य तथ्य है कि उपदेशात्मक ढंग से गद्य में कही गई किसी बात के मुकाबले गीतात्मक ढंग से कही गई कोई बात बच्चों को सहज ही समझ में आ जाती है। प्रस्तुत पुस्तक इसी दिशा में एक प्रयास है। बच्चों को शिक्षा देकर और समाज-राष्ट्र की प्रगति में सहभागी बनाने हेतु सार्थक पुस्तक।
