- Description: वरिष्ठ कथाकार रूपसिंह चंदेल बहुमुखी प्रतिभा के धनी हैं। कहानी, उपन्यास, संस्मरण, आलोचना आदि गद्य की अनेक विधाओं में उन्होंने सृजन किया है। आलोचकों ने उन्हें लोकधर्मी कथाकार कहा है। युवा आलोचक डॉ. बिभा कुमारी के अनुसार, कथाकार रूपसिंह चंदेल की कथाओं में एक ओर मिट्टी की सोंधी खुशबू की अनुभूति प्राप्त होती है तो दूसरी ओर महानगरीय जीवन, टूटते संबंध, मशीनी जीवन, मनुष्य द्वारा मनुष्य का उपयोग किया जाना इत्यादि विसंगतियों का जीवंत और साक्षात् चित्रण है। वरिष्ठ आलोचक डॉ. पंकज साहा के अनुसार, विश्व के महान् लेखक अल्बेयर कामू के लेखन में हिंसा, अत्याचार एवं क्रूरता के खिलाफ जो स्वर हैं, वही स्वर चंदेलजी की रचनाओं में भी देखने को मिलते हैं। कामू की तरह चंदेलजी की भी सृजनात्मक पारदर्शिता अपने समय की मानवीय चेतना एवं उसकी समस्याओं का उद्घाटन करती है। युवा आलोचक उमाशंकर सिंह परमार मानते हैं कि रूपसिंह चंदेल अपनी कहानियों में जब यथार्थ का चित्र प्रस्तुत करते हैं, तब वे कतई आदर्शवादी नहीं रहते हैं, न ही वे सच को छिपानेवाले आदर्श से सम्मोहित हैं। यथार्थ यहाँ कटु यथार्थ के रूप में आता है और वह पाठक को झकझोरते हुए झूठी मान-मर्यादा, नैतिक पतन, मूल्यहीनता और शोषण में संलग्न लोकतंत्र के प्रहरियों पर प्रहार करता है।

- Description: L.K. Advani's blogs cut across generations: they have a recall value for his contemporaries. Advani's blogs provide a rare insight into history for the young Indian, restless to do his bit in shaping the future of his country. They take him through the turmoil and toil of leaders like Sardar Patel and their distinctive contribution to shaping today's India. Advani's blogs have a dual purpose: they mirror an era gone by and yet link its relevance to an India, raring to take on the world. The blogs, therefore, successfully merge two periods: one to which Advani himself belongs with another which sees him as a mentor. That Advani has been a consequential politician is a given. As a protagonist in the political playfield spanning decades, he, along with Atal Behari Vajpayee, not only formed the Bharatiya Janata Party but transformed it dramatically. If the BJP is nationally in the reckoning today, it is because of the Atal-Advani vision of bringing it centre-stage from the margins. It is through this journey that he redefined secularism. During his historic yatras, including the Ramjanambhoomi and Somnath to Ayodhya, the country was compelled to redefine secularism and distinguish it from the pseudo-secularism handed down by adversaries. But that is only one part. The other and more significant is Advani's contribution to setting and elevating standards in public life and hammering that they are followed. That he has led from the front is well known. The strength of Advani's blogs, like his persona, is that they are direct, candid and forthright. There are no soft-pedalling issues or minimising the blow, as it were. He has stated facts as they are and did not attempt to underplay or exaggerate any sequence. His writings are as clear as his mind. The blogs offer a wide range: history, politics, books and all else. To those who have a stake in India's political future, Advani's blogs are a practical guide; for others an exciting read.
