- Description: हिंदी बहुत समृद्ध भाषा है। इसका शब्द भंडार विशाल है। इन दिनों हिंदी पत्रकारिता भाषायी संकट का सामना कर रही है। सामाजिक और आर्थिक परिवर्तन के दबावों में वह ऐसा भाषा-रूप अपना रही है, जो हिंदी समाज की भाषिक और सांस्कृतिक अस्मिता के लिए चुनौती है। हिंदी समाचार-पत्रों और अन्य जनसंचार माध्यमों में अंग्रेजी शब्दों का अवांछनीय प्रयोग बढ़ रहा है। प्रस्तुत शब्दकोश में शब्दार्थ उसके व्याकरणिक रूप के अनुसार दिए गए हैं। जहाँ कहीं शब्द या मुहावरे का रूप क्षेत्रीय या बहुप्रचलित से कुछ हटकर है, वहाँ उसका प्रचलित रूप भी साथ में दिया गया है। जहाँ कहीं कोई शब्द प्रचलित अर्थ से भिन्न अर्थ में प्रयुक्त हुआ है, वहाँ उसका मुख्य अर्थ पहले दिया गया है। जहाँ किसी शब्द के एक से अधिक अर्थ हों, वहाँ अर्थ के समक्ष तदनुकूल उद्धरण दिए गए हैं। शब्द का अर्थ देते समय उसकी उत्पत्ति को ध्यान में रखा गया है। कोश में जिन पत्र-पत्रिकाओं से उद्धरण लिये गए हैं, उनका उल्लेख संकेताक्षरों में किया गया है तथा उनका खुलासा पृथक् से 'संकेत’ के रूप में शब्दकोश में किया गया है। आशा है, 'हिंदी पत्रकारिता की शब्द-संपदा’ ग्रंथ का हिंदी जगत् में स्वागत होगा। संपादकों की मेज पर एक उपादेय सहायक के रूप में वह अपना स्थान बनाएगा। पत्रकारों, विद्यार्थियों, अध्यापकों तथा साहित्यसेवियों द्वारा इसे अपनाया जाएगा।
