- Description: Ramjanmabhoomi’ means the birthplace of Lord Rama who is the reincarnation of Lord Vishnu. The birth place of Lord Rama is situated in Ayodhya in the state of Uttar Pradesh which makes Ayodhya one of most sacred places for Hindus. In 1528, Babar who had invaded India, got the Ram Temple demolished and built a Mosque like structure over it. Since then, Hindus have been trying to get this place back and build a Ram Temple on it. Many Hindus sacrificed their lives for this cause. In recent times, the movement to build a Ram Temple was launched in mid-1980s. It became one of the defining moments for India as it brought a paradigm shift in Indian politics too. - Description: ‘गपोड़ी से गपशप’ विख्यात कथाकार काशीनाथ सिंह के साक्षात्कारों का संकलन है। विविध विधाओं में रचने के बाद भी बहुत कुछ ऐसा है जो अनकहा रह जाता है। कई बार जब लेखक प्रश्नों से घिरता है अथवा जब प्रश्न-प्रतिप्रश्न की प्रक्रिया प्रारम्भ होती है तब वह अनकहा व्यक्त होने लगता है। प्रस्तुत पुस्तक के सम्पादक पल्लव के अनुसार—कथाकार की बातें कैसी होती हैं? अलबत्ता इससे भी पहले यह पूछना चाहिए कि क्या है जो कहने से रह गया? काशीनाथ सिंह से की गई बातचीतों को सँजोते हुए इन सवालों का उभरना अस्वाभाविक तो नहीं है। कहना चाहिए कि ये बातचीतें बहुधा उनके पाठकों, प्रशंसकों या उनके साहित्य में दिलचस्पी रखनेवाले जिज्ञासुओं के कारण सम्भव हुई। इन बातचीतों का समय भी बहुत व्यापक है। लगभग तीस सालों का सफ़र पूरा करतीं ये मुलाक़ातें अपने स्वभाव में आत्मीय गपशप हैं। लेखक का संकोच और प्रश्नकर्ता की तमाम जिज्ञासाएँ मिलकर बातचीत को उत्तेजक नहीं बनातीं, न ही ये कथाकार के श्रीमुख से निकले आप्त-वचनों का सुसंकलन बन रही हैं। अपितु संशय, आत्मालोचना और जनतांत्रिकता इन संवादों को पठनीय बनाते हैं। लेखक इनमें औपचारिक होने से बचता है और जो कहा है सीधे-बेलाग। पाठक जानते हैं कि काशीनाथ सिंह विचारों को व्यक्त करते समय ‘भाषा को दरेरा’ देते रहते हैं। यही कारण है कि विभिन्न विषयों पर उनकी टिप्पणियाँ व्यापक विमर्शों का आधार बनती रही हैं। यह भी कि इन साक्षात्कारों से गुज़रने के बाद काशीनाथ सिंह के व्यक्तित्व-कृतित्व के प्रति पाठक का दृष्टिकोण संशोधित-परिष्कृत होता है।
