‘तुम्हारा नानू’ में नामवर सिंह के अपनी बेटी समीक्षा ठाकुर को लिखे पत्रों को संकलित किया गया है। ये पत्र 1986 से 2005 के बीच लिखे गए थे और इनका उद्देश्य यात्राओं में अपने देखे स्थलों और अन्य अनुभवों से अपनी बेटी को परिचित कराना था।
इन पत्रों को संकलित करते हुए समीक्षा जी उनकी रोज़-रोज़ की यात्राओं और व्यस्तताओं का हवाला देते हुए बताती हैं कि वापस घर आने पर वे रस ले-लेकर वहाँ के बारे में बताते और चाहते कि बेटी भी उन जगहों को देखे। इसीलिए बाद में उन्होंने अपनी देखी-जानी चीजों को पत्रों में लिखना शुरू कर दिया।
पत्रों की अपनी एक उष्मा होती है, जो अब मोबाइल और मेल के ज़माने में दुर्लभ है। इन पत्रों को पढ़ते हुए हम वह उष्मा भी महसूस करते हैं, और नामवर सिंह की दृष्टि की बारीकी से भी परिचित होते हैं।
पुस्तक में समीक्षा ठाकुर लिखित दो आलेख भी शामिल किए गए हैं। इनमें उन्होंने अपने पिता नामवर, हिन्दी के महान आलोचक नामवर, सबके चहेते नामवर, और वक्ता नामवर के साथ नामवर जी के जीवन के कई पहलुओं पर रौशनी डाली है। एक पठनीय और संग्रहणीय पुस्तक!

- Description: This book by eminent journalist Aaku Srivastava, delves deep into the history of the politics of independent India with an aim to study the ups and downs of the regional parties arising with the contradictions and conflicts between the states against the ‘Centre’. These ‘contradictions’ first appeared in the early 1970s when local political forces in 7 to 8 states formed their own ‘united governments’ and offered localist alternatives to the ‘Centrist’ Congress policies. Linguistic and local cultural identities made this change possible. In the Centre too, two non-Congress parties and local parties formed governments. In the era of globalisation, this tendency of decentralisation became even more forceful and compelling. Perhaps that is why even now that Congress ‘centralism’ has been replaced by BJP, many localist identities keep clashing with BJP’s centralism as well. Aaku Srivastava critically examines the various dimensions of this fundamental contradiction of Indian politics. And they tell that this contradiction is due to ‘internal contradiction’ of our contemporary politics, which apparently appears to be a ‘curse for democracy’ but indirectly it seems to keep democracy alive.
