- Description: सरकारी कार्यालयों के कार्य-व्यवहार का एक आवश्यक पहलू है फ़ाइलों पर की जानेवाली टिप्पणियाँ, विभागीय पत्राचार और विषयानुरूप मसौदे। परम्परागत रूप से इन्हें अंग्रेज़ी में किया जाता है, परन्तु अब कुछ वर्षों से इन्हें हिन्दी में भी किया जा रहा है। इसी उद्देश्य से विभिन्न पुस्तकें भी प्रकाशित हुई हैं, लेकिन डॉ. शिवनारायण चतुर्वेदी की यह पुस्तक ऐसी तमाम पुस्तकों से अलग हटकर लिखी गई है। सरकारी फ़ाइलों से जुड़े टिप्पण-आवेदन-प्रारूप के महत्त्व को स्वीकारते हुए भी डॉ. चतुर्वेदी का मानना है कि उक्त विषय सरकारी कार्यविधि का केवल एक पक्ष है। दूसरा पक्ष है—छुट्टी, स्थानान्तरण, स्थायीकरण, पदोन्नति, वरिष्ठता-वेतन, अग्रिम वेतन, आवास आदि से जुड़े आवेदन-प्रारूप। यह पुस्तक ऐसे प्रारूपों के कई-कई नमूने प्रस्तुत करती है। इसके अलावा पुस्तक के तीसरे खंड में विभिन्न सरकारी अधिकारियों से पत्र-व्यवहार के प्रारूप दिए गए हैं। सम्पादकों के नाम पत्र, विभिन्न अवसरों से सम्बद्ध निमंत्रण-पत्र आदि भी इसी खंड में शामिल हैं। पुस्तक के तीन-तीन परिशिष्टों में भी कुछ उपयोगी जानकारियाँ निहित हैं। इसी प्रकार प्रस्तुत पुस्तक आवेदन-पत्रों के प्रायः सभी आवश्यक हिन्दी रूपों को समाहित किए हुए है, जिनकी ज़रूरत एक कर्मचारी को अपने जीवन में पड़ती है। कहने की आवश्यकता नहीं कि डॉ. चतुर्वेदी की यह पुस्तक उन तमाम सरकारी कर्मचारियों के दैनंदिन उपयोग से जुड़ी हुई है, जो विभागीय और विभागेतर पत्राचार हिन्दी में करना चाहते हैं। यही नहीं, जैसा कि लेखक ने कहा है, यह पुस्तक हिन्दी-शिक्षण-योजना के अन्तर्गत ‘प्रवीण’ और ‘प्राज्ञ’ परीक्षाओं के विद्यार्थियों के लिए भी उपयोगी होगी, क्योंकि पिछले अनेक वर्षों में इन परीक्षाओं में प्रारम्भिक आलेखन के अन्तर्गत आवेदन-पत्रों से सम्बन्धित जितने भी प्रश्न आए हैं, उन्हें भी इसमें शामिल कर लिया गया है।

शरीर की आवश्यकता से अधिक कैलोरी वाला या अधिक चर्बीयुक्त भोजन वज़न बढ़ाने में सहायक होता है। यहाँ तक कि केवल 20 ग्राम वाला एक ब्रेड का टुकड़ा यदि अतिरिक्त मात्रा में रोज़ खाया जाए तो वह वज़न बढ़ा सकता है। इसी तरह 20 मिनट पैदल चलनेवाला व्यक्ति कार से जाने लगे या पैदल चलना छोड़ दे तो भी उसका वज़न बढ़ सकता है। दस वर्षों के दौरान ली गई अतिरिक्त 48 किलो कैलोरी से 20 किलो चर्बी शरीर में जमा हो सकती है। बच्चों में चाकलेट और फास्ट-फूड खाने की आदतें भी वज़न बढ़ाने में सहायक होती हैं। आए दिन होनेवाली पार्टियों में जानेवाले लोग अकसर ज़रूरत से ज़्यादा खा जाते हैं, यह अधिक खाना उनका वज़न बढ़ाने में सहायक होता है। कुछ लोग तनाव या समस्याओं के कारण भी ज़्यादा खा जाते हैं। इसी तरह कई लोग अच्छे स्वाद के कारण भी अधिक भोजन करते हैं। कई लोगों में एक ग़लत धारणा प्रचलित है कि स्वस्थ रहने के लिए ख़ूब खाना चाहिए और फिर ख़ूब खानेवाली धारणा उन्हें मोटा बना देती है।

- Description: भुवनेश्वर प्रेमचन्द की खोज हैं। इसके दो प्रमाण हैं—(1) उनकी अब तक प्राप्त 12 कहानियों में से 9 और अब तक प्राप्त 17 नाटकों में से 9 प्रेमचन्द द्वारा संस्थापित ‘हंस’ पत्रिका में ही प्रकाशित हुए। और (2) भुवनेश्वर की पहली और एकमात्र प्रकाशित किताब ‘कारवाँ’ की पहली समीक्षा ख़ुद प्रेमचन्द ने लिखी। लेकिन भुवनेश्वर मात्र एक कहानीकार–एकांकीकार ही नहीं, एक उत्कृष्ट कवि, सूक्तिकार और मारक टिप्पणीकार भी हैं। अपने सम्पूर्ण लेखन में वे कहीं भी दबी ज़बान से नहीं बोलते। उनकी अंग्रेज़ी की 10 कविताओं में सत्यकथन की अघोर हिंसा का जो हाहाकार है वह हिन्दी कविता के तत्कालीन (छायावादी) वातावरण के बिलकुल विपरीत और अत्याधुनिक है। भुवनेश्वर ने ‘डाकमुंशी’ और ‘एक रात’ जैसी कहानियाँ लिखकर प्रेमचन्द के चरित्रवाद और घटनात्मक कथानकवाद का एक ‘तोड़’ प्रस्तुत किया। उनकी ‘भेड़िये’ कहानी आज की गलाकाट प्रतियोगिताओं की एक प्रतीकात्मक पूर्व–झाँकी है, जहाँ अपना अस्तित्व बचाए रखने के लिए दूसरों की बलि चढ़ाने में ज़रा भी हिचक नहीं। उनके प्रसिद्ध नाटक ‘ताँबे के कीड़े’ में संवादों के होते हुए भी संवादात्मकता का पूरी तरह लोप है। भुवनेश्वर के सम्पूर्ण लेखन में सन्नाटे का एक ‘अनहद’ है जो कहीं से भी आध्यात्मिक नहीं। भुवनेश्वर हिन्दी के एक ऐसे उपेक्षित और भुलाए गए लेखक हैं, जो अपनी पैदाइश के आज सौ वर्षों बाद अब ज़्यादा प्रासंगिक और आधुनिक नज़र आते हैं। भुवनेश्वर आने वाली पीढ़ियों के लेखक हैं।
