- Description: ‘प्यार में शाहीन बाग’ राठौर विचित्रमणि सिंह का पहला उपन्यास है जो देश के बदलते हालात को ऐतिहासिक, राजनैतिक और सामाजिक परिप्रेक्ष्य में देखते हुए प्रेम और घृणा, हिंसा और अहिंसा के मुद्दे को तथ्य और तर्क की कसौटी पर लेकर कसते हैं और अंत में स्वीकार करते हैं कि जानना और समझना मानवीय संबंधों को बहाल करने की कसौटी है। उपन्यास हिमांशु नामक युवक के बचपन से शुरु होता है जहां उसके अवलोकन और समझ की जगह उस पर झूठा सच थोपा जाता है। इससे नफरत की इकहरी दृष्टि लेकर वह शाहीन बाग के आंदोलन को ध्वस्त करने के इरादे से जाता है जहां विष भरे हृदय में प्यार अंकुर उगता महसूस करता है सोफिया से जो गांधी से प्रभावित है। उपन्यास का यह हिस्सा फसाद, गलत प्रचार, दुखद घटनाओं व हत्याओं से पाठक के मन पर गहरा असर डालता है और स्वयं हिमांशु के अंदर की इंसानियत उसकी हैवानियत पर भारी पड़ती है। वह इसी भावना के वेग में आकर असम आंदोलन में शिरकत करता है और कहता है कि जहां-जहां शाहीन बाग उभरेगा, वहां वहां मैं मौजूद रहूंगा। देशप्रेम, आपसी भाईचारा व सकारात्मक व नकारात्मक सोच को बिना किसी लंबी व्याया के लेखक ने समय के सूप से पछोड़ कर अलग व सराहनीय काम किया है। उपन्यास पढ़ा जाना चाहिए जिसके लिए लेखक बधाई का पात्र है।-नासिरा शर्मा

- Description: मला ‘अंडरट्रायल` अर्थात कच्चा कैदी म्हणून येरवडा जेलमध्ये काही काळासाठी स्थानबद्ध केलं गेलं होतं. तत्पूर्वी आयपीएस अधिकारी म्हणून आणि कायद्याचा विद्यार्थी म्हणून मी जेलला भेट दिली होती. परंतु त्यावेळी न दिसलेले तुरुंगाचे अंतरंग मला कच्चा कैदी म्हणून वावरताना दिसले. त्याचबरोबर तुरुंगातल्या इतर बंद्यांच्या एका वेगळ्या भावविश्वाचं दर्शन घडलं. त्यातून कैदी जेलच्या कोंडवाड्यामध्ये जगतात कसे, वागतात कसे नि रमतात कसे याचं वास्तव चित्रण शब्दबद्ध करण्याचा प्रयत्न मी या ‘तुरुंगरंग`मध्ये केला आहे. अर्थात माणूस गुन्हेगार का होतो आणि समाज म्हणून आपण त्याला गुन्हेगारीपासून कसं परावृत्त करू शकतो हेही मला इथं सांगायचं आहे. इतकंच नाही, तर तुरुंगात कैद्यांचं आयुष्य जसं पणाला लागतं तसंच फौजदारी न्यायप्रक्रियाही कशी कैद होते याची स्पष्ट जाणीव करून देण्याचाही माझा प्रयत्न आहे. वाचक म्हणून आपण माझ्या या पहिल्याच पुस्तकाचं स्वागत कराल अशी आशा. जेल आणि कैदी सुधारणा हा विषय तसा दुर्लक्षित राहिला आहे. जेल सुधारणांसाठी कैद्यांची दुसरी बाजू ऐकणे आणि त्यांच्या मानसिक स्थितीचा उलगडा करणे, हे अत्यावश्यक आहे. मला खात्री आहे की, ‘तुरुंगरंग` हे पुस्तक समाजात जागृती निर्माण करेल. किंबहुना प्रशासन जेलकडे केवळ दंड देण्याची जागा म्हणून न पाहता कैद्यांची वर्तणूक सुधारण्यासाठीचे एक साधन म्हणून बघेल आणि त्या अनुषंगाने नीती आखेल. ज्ञानेश्वर पाटील आयएएस (मध्य प्रदेश कॅडर) रवींद्रनाथ पाटील यांच्यातील उत्कृष्ट मार्गदर्शक, अधिकारी आणि प्रशासकही आम्ही यापूर्वी बघितला आहे. आता या पुस्तकाच्या निमित्तानं त्यांच्यातल्या उत्कृष्ट लेखकाचं दर्शन घडतंय. त्यांचं हे अत्यंत वेगळ्या विषयावरचं पुस्तक प्रत्येकानं वाचावं असंच आहे. डॉ. शिवानंद बिडवे तहसीलदार, महाराष्ट्र राज्य
