- Description: A collection of mythological stories retold. ಅಜ್ಜಿ ಅಜ್ಜಂದಿರು ಮೊಮ್ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನು ಕೂರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಕಥೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಕಾಲವೊಂದಿತ್ತು. ಒಂದೂರಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬ ರಾಜಕುಮಾರಿ ಇದ್ದಳು ಎನ್ನುತ್ತಾ ಆರಂಭವಾಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಕಾಲ್ಪನಿಕ ಕಥೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞಾನಕ್ಕೂ ಮೀರಿದ ಕಥಾವಸ್ತುಗಳು ಬಂದೊಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದವು. ಇಂತಹ ಕಾಲ್ಪನಿಕ, ಪೌರಾಣಿಕ, ಜಾನಪದ ಕಥೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನೀತಿ ಪಾಠವೂ ಇರುತ್ತಿತ್ತು. ಆದರೆ ಇಂದಿನ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ಇವೆಲ್ಲಾ ದಕ್ಕುತ್ತಿರುವುದು ಸಂದೇಹವೇ ಸರಿ. ಗ್ಯಾಜೆಟ್ ಲೋಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಳುಗಿರುವ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ಕಥೆ ಹೇಳುವ ಪುರುಸೊತ್ತು ಮನೆಯ ಸದಸ್ಯರಿಗೆ ಇರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಮಕ್ಕಳೂ ಕೂಡ ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞಾನದ ತ್ವರಿತ ಬೆಳವಣಿಗೆಗೆ ತಕ್ಕಂತೆ ಇಂತಹ ನೀತಿ ಪಾಠಗಳನ್ನು ಯೂಟ್ಯೂಬ್, ಗೂಗಲ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ನೋಡಲು ಶುರುವಿಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡಿರುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಲೇಖಕಿ ಆಶಾ ರಘು ಅವರು ಇಂದಿನ ಸಿದ್ಧ ಮಾದರಿಯನ್ನು ಒಡೆಯಲು ಅಪರೂಪದ ಪುರಾಣದ ಕಥೆಗಳನ್ನು ಹೆಣೆದಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಇವು ಪೌರಾಣಿಕ ಕಥೆಗಳೆ ಆಗಿದ್ದರೂ ಕಥಾ ವಸ್ತು ಹಾಗೂ ಹೆಣೆದಿರುವ ರೀತಿ ವಿಭಿನ್ನವಾಗಿದೆ. ರಾಮ-ಸೀತೆಯ ರಾಮಾಯಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಚೂಡಾಮಣಿಯ ಮೂಲಕ ಅವರಿಬ್ಬರ ಪ್ರೀತಿ ಕಟ್ಟಿಕೊಟ್ಟಿರುವುದು, ಅರ್ಧನಾರೀಶ್ವರ ಪರಿಕಲ್ಪನೆ ಇವೆಲ್ಲವೂ ಓದುಗರಿಗೆ ಹೊಸತನವನ್ನು ಮೂಡಿಸುತ್ತವೆ.
